ProGRAM DESCRIPTION

This program offers students a unique opportunity to explore both natural and cultural wonders of Ecuador. On the Galápagos Islands—Isabela, Santa Cruz, and San Cristóbal—you'll witness the iconic wildlife that inspired Darwin’s theory of evolution, including giant tortoises, finches, and mockingbirds. Back on mainland Ecuador, the focus shifts to rich cultural exploration in Quito’s historic Independence Plaza, the equatorial Intiñan Museum, and the vibrant markets of Otavalo.

FACULTY LEADER

Dr. Jeff Aulgur has traveled to Mexico City twice, El Salvador (San Salvador and the highlands), Ecuador (Quito), and Guatemala (western highlands). He has prior experience in Ecuador having presented at an academic conference in Quito in 2017. He is currently learning Spanish through immersive activities with native-language speakers. Dr. Aulgur holds an M.S. in Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
