Our student group includes students who are studying all areas of journalism; broadcast, print, public relations. 
A main focus of our group is media literacy.  We feel it is extremely important in this digital age that people understand the content they are consuming.  We educate the local community by defining this concept and then providing tips on how to think critically and be aware of the power of messaging. 
Each semester, we invite business professionals who are working in the journalism field to come and share with our students about their career path.
We also visit journalism entities around the state. Previous trips have included, KARK Channel 4, The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Arkansas Press Association, 40/29 KHBS and various public relations firms.

In 2023, our SPJ chapter was named Campus Program of the Year and Outstanding Campus Chapter finalist.
