Membership:
Membership of the Faculty Senate will be established according to Article II, Section

terms.
Function:
Serve as a committee on committees that include elected faculty members and shall
act for the faculty in all curricular matters other than those involving changes in
general academic policies, and for the faculty or the administration on matters referred
to it for action; serve as an advisory body to the faculty on matters involving academic
policies and to the administration or the faculty, as appropriate, on any other matter
of general concern to the University.
The Award’s Purpose:
Once a month, the Faculty Senate will recognize ATU faculty members who are doing amazing things – undertaking activities or events that have a positive impact and benefit for ATU, its students, and its communities in a given month. The award is open to all faculty at 鶹91Ʒ. (Please see the eligibility section below).
Broadly, those activities or events can be umbrellaed under the areas of Service, Scholarship & Creative Endeavors, or Teaching, but this monthly award IS NOT the Faculty Excellence Awards. The Faculty of the Month Awards are not given for each category as is the case for the Faculty Excellence Awards, but to one or two faculty members (If there is a tie in the Committee vote or strong consensus among them that two faculty members are worthy) for events and activities that can span multiple categories or only represent one category.
